Sam's 1st fish EVER!!!

Sam and Dave eating the famous fish. Sam actually ate almost the whole thing
Sam LOVES his "4 wheeler-rides". Doesn't he look tough with his sunglasses on upside down?

We spent the weekend after the 24th of July up at the cabin. It was our first trip up this summer, and it was wonderful. The rainy spring brought so many wildflowers and everything was still so green. SF was 100 degrees and the cabin was a perfect 75. The stars were breathtaking at night and I even needed a jacket when I went out stargazing. Of course we ate well and slept well (Luke even slept for 10 hours that night). All the best things about the cabin.

The real highlight of the trip was that Sam caught his first fish EVER! Dave, John, and Grandpa Robert all went fishing in the evening, and Sam caught his own fish. He was so excited to reel it in and and then hold the net. Grandpa Robert took these pictures that are so precious. I don't know which boy was more proud. Sam helped clean it, cook it, and eat it. Sam spent the rest of the day, night, and week telling everyone that he caught his first fish EVER. He even had to get down on the ground to tell Chief (the dog) all about it.

We went back to the cabin again the next weekend with Margie and Brady. We fished again, but we weren't so lucky. I tried helping Sam, and he told me "Mom, you are not good at this." I really wish I could have caught my own fish just to show him, but no such luck.
