Labor Day day camping & Sam's 1st day of pre-school

For Labor Day, Dave's family always goes camping up by Rock Creek in the Uintahs. We have never gone along because I've either wimped out with babies or I have had to work some part of the weekend. We decided to just go out for the day Saturday, and we had a great time. Ashlyn came out with us, and she and Sam had so much fun playing. They look more like brother and sister than cousins. Ava loved to play with Luke too. Luke is getting so big they are almost the same size now.

We went for a hike up along Rock Creek Dam. I took Luke in the snuggly and he loved. Sam and Dave loved throwing rocks down off the trail into the lake. Sam nearly scared me to death, but somehow we managed to keep him from falling off. It reminded me of when I went backpacking in the Uintahs with the YW from our stake. That was one of my favorite memories. I loved really roughing it and carrying in everything I would need in my own pack. I would love to do that again someday.

For dinner, we met up with more of the Miles family in the next campground. It was so beautiful up there, I can't even describe it. I wish I had taken more pictures. Paula's brothers and sisters (Dixie, Ken, Verdus, and Ron) and their kids and grandkids are really quite a crowd now. It is amazing and wonderful to think how fast and large a family can grow. We miss Grandma Miles, but I know she would be happy to see so many of her family enjoying a good campfire near Mountain Home.

SAM'S 1st DAY OF PRE-SCHOOL

Sam started pre-school this year. He goes on Monday and Wednesday afternoons. His teacher is Teacher Marilyn and we love her because she loves preschool. Sam was a little bit nervous at first, but once he put on his Elmo backpack and saw the slide outside, he was ready to go. We hope we all survive and that Sam learns some academics and especially how to be nice in school. I think he will have fun and he needs something to keep him from getting bored. I don't know what Luke and I will do on Wednesdays without Sam.
